Air Peace has apologised to passengers after an industrial action by organised labour unions disrupted its flight operations at airports in Lagos and Abuja.
The airline said the action prevented passengers from accessing its departure terminals, affecting scheduled flights in both cities.
According to Air Peace, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Trade Union Congress barricaded the entrances to its departure terminals at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1, including the Alpha and Zulu Terminals, as well as Terminal 2 in Lagos.
The blockade also affected access to the terminal at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, making it impossible for scheduled flights to depart from the two locations.
The airline said the disruption had affected passengers travelling across its network, with some travellers left stranded as a result of the industrial action.
Air Peace expressed regret over the situation and apologised to passengers for the inconvenience, stressing that the disruption resulted from circumstances beyond its control.
The airline added that passengers scheduled to travel later in the day were being contacted and given updates as the situation develops.
It said it would continue to monitor the situation and provide affected passengers with relevant information on their flights.
