Don Jazzy has firmly shut down recent rumors suggesting that Grammy-nominated sensation Ayra Starr has parted ways with Mavin Records. The label boss took to social media on Thursday to clarify the status of the Afrobeats star, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, following speculation regarding her professional affiliation.
The conversation began when a fan publicly commended Don Jazzy for his continued support of artists who had purportedly left the label, specifically mentioning Ayra Starr in the list. The producer quickly corrected the narrative, affectionately calling the singer his own and insisting she remains a core member of the Mavin family.
Reports notes that this clarification comes during a week when the twenty-four-year-old singer has been at the center of media attention. Earlier reports circulated claiming that the South African government had denied her a visa, effectively blocking her entry into the country.
However, that narrative was later challenged by the South African Consul-General to Nigeria, Professor Bobby Moroe. He stated that immigration authorities had no record of any visa application being submitted by the singer or her management team, let alone a rejection, effectively dismissing the claims that previously made headlines.
