Residents of the Federal Capital Territory have been urged to be more deliberate with their votes and avoid repeating the political missteps of the 2023 general elections. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made this appeal during an interactive session convened by the Rainbow Coalition of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in the Bwari Area Council.
Addressing the crowd, the minister cautioned against aligning with political gamblers. He pointed to the widespread infrastructure projects currently transforming the capital territory as concrete evidence of why the current administration deserves continued support. Emphasizing that political platforms are merely vehicles to attain office, Wike noted that once in power, leaders must set partisanship aside and prioritize the welfare of the people.
The minister explicitly endorsed former Senator Philip Aduda and other coalition-backed candidates, including John Gbadaya, encouraging residents to throw their weight behind leaders who can genuinely deliver community development. Presenting Aduda as a trusted home-grown figure deeply attuned to the daily realities of the constituents, Wike noted that meaningful progress in the capital is only possible when public officeholders work hand in hand with responsible leadership.
