Ekiti University Promotes 208 Staff, Reaffirms Welfare Commitment

Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, has approved promotions for 208 members of staff and reaffirmed its commitment to their welfare and career development.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Research Foyeke Ibimilua gave the assurance while addressing members of the Non-Academic Staff Union on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Babatunde Omojola.
The meeting followed a peaceful march by union members to the Wole Olanipekun Senate Building, where they raised concerns about unpaid entitlements and other welfare issues.
Ibimilua acknowledged the union’s demands and said management was working to address them within the university’s administrative and financial capacity. She said the institution would continue to use dialogue and consultation to resolve concerns and maintain a productive working environment.
She also recognised the contribution of non-academic staff to the university’s growth and academic aims, and pledged continued engagement with recognised unions. Maintaining cordial relations and industrial harmony, she said, was vital to the university’s academic and administrative work.
The update was provided in a statement by university spokesperson Temitope Akinbisoye.
