ipNX: Empowering Women Is Key to a Diverse Nigerian Tech Future

Zoyols News

One of Nigeria’s leading ICT firms, ipNX, has emphasized that empowering women is a vital step toward building a more diverse and vibrant tech ecosystem in the country. Aligning with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” the company has launched several initiatives aimed at mentoring and supporting the next generation of female innovators. These efforts are designed to celebrate the existing contributions of women in technology while clearing the path for those following in their footsteps.

As part of its community outreach, ipNX recently visited Victoria Island Senior Secondary School in Lagos to host an inspirational session for young girls. The program focused on the vast opportunities available in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Students received practical career guidance and heard real-life success stories to encourage them to pursue their ambitions in a digital-first world. Notably, the school is already a beneficiary of free broadband internet provided by the company as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts.

During the event, Mary Falade, an Account Manager at ipNX Business, spoke about the necessity of early exposure and mentorship in closing the gender gap within the tech industry. She shared with the students that the company’s mission is rooted in the belief that investing in young girls today is the only way to ensure an inclusive and innovative future. She encouraged the students to embrace discipline and growth, noting that believing in oneself is the first step toward a future without limits.

The advocacy continued with a high-level virtual webinar featuring Dr. Nadu Denloye, a respected pioneer in the Nigerian tech space and former Group Managing Director of Telnet Nigeria Limited. In her keynote address, titled “Beyond Inclusion: Women Building Influence, Driving Impact and Accelerating Growth,” Dr. Denloye detailed her own professional journey. The session, which was monitored by Reports, explored the changing role of women in Africa’s digital economy and offered actionable strategies for women looking to lead and build resilience in the sector.

Folashade Efiong-Bassey, the Group Executive Director of Corporate Services at ipNX, also weighed in on the importance of the celebration. She reiterated the company’s dedication to creating sustainable support systems that help women thrive in STEM careers. According to her, the focus remains on providing the right access and opportunities so that more women can lead and succeed in the digital age.

These programs reflect a broader vision at ipNX to be a people-driven organization that fosters digital inclusion. By combining strategic mentorship with active advocacy, the firm is playing a significant role in making the Nigerian technology landscape more diverse, such initiatives highlight a commitment to long-term social impact that goes far beyond just providing internet connectivity.
