A philanthropic initiative in Kano State has provided a major boost to local agriculture as fifteen hundred farmers across Kabo and Gwarzo local government areas received high-quality fertilizer to support their cultivation efforts. This timely intervention, organized by the Fahad Dankabo Foundation, targets rural families during a critical phase of the current planting season.
The distribution exercise, which took place on Monday, reached everyday farmers selected from all twenty electoral wards within the two local governments. Spearheading the distribution on behalf of the foundation’s founder was Abdussamad Bakwana, representing Fahad Muhammad Adamu Dankabo, a prominent local figure and former House of Representatives candidate for the Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency.
According to reports gathered by Zoyols News, the support program was designed specifically to lift the burden off smallholder farmers who often struggle with the rising costs of agricultural inputs. The founder of the organization, speaking through his representative, emphasized that agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy. Dankabo noted that empowering those who work the land is one of the most reliable strategies for enhancing food security, driving economic growth in rural areas, and lifting the living standards of families in the state.
The gesture has sparked widespread gratitude among the farming communities in both local government areas. Several beneficiaries expressed relief at the distribution, explaining that the high cost of quality fertilizer had threatened to derail their yields this year. With the subsidized inputs now in their hands, many local farmers are optimistic about a highly productive harvest that will not only sustain their households but also stabilize food prices in the region.
