Jemima Osunde Stands Up for Women’s Reproductive Rights

zoyolsblog

Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has once again used her platform to advocate for women’s sexual and reproductive health, lending her voice to the “Shift the Needle” campaign, which seeks to expand access to family planning resources across Nigeria.

Taking to Instagram, Osunde highlighted the transformative power of empowering women with reproductive health education and access to contraception. “I truly believe that when you empower women, you empower entire communities,” she shared.

The campaign focuses on breaking down barriers to contraception and education, especially in underserved areas. For Osunde, the cause is deeply personal. “Shift the Needle is close to my heart. It’s about giving young women the information, resources, and healthcare they need to make choices for themselves. When women have the power to decide, they can complete their education, build careers, and shape their own futures,” she explained.

She also addressed the wider implications of unplanned pregnancies, noting how they can derail a woman’s life in ways often underestimated. “I support family planning. I support bodily autonomy. I support women having a chance at life and everything it has to offer. I support the Shift the Needle campaign,” she wrote, making a firm case for the importance of women’s rights in shaping both personal and societal growth.

Through her advocacy, Osunde continues to inspire a generation of young women to take control of their health, their choices, and their futures, showing that empowerment starts with knowledge and access.
