Big Brother Naija alumni Mercy Eke has shown support for her fellow housemate Tacha, celebrating her latest achievement with genuine excitement.
Tacha recently set a new Guinness World Record for the most makeovers, surpassing the previous record of 64 transformations in just eight hours. Taking to social media to share her enthusiasm, Mercy expressed her excitement for Tacha’s upcoming big announcement, noting how much she deserves the recognition. She also added a personal touch, acknowledging a favor owed:
“I can’t wait for the big announcement, my baby, you deserve it! @Symply_Tacha. I owe you one.”
Their bond has seen ups and downs over the years. Last month, Tacha had marked Mercy’s birthday with a heartfelt message, praising her beauty and encouraging her to keep thriving. Yet, their past has had moments of tension. In 2023, a playful feud sparked online when Tacha appeared to shade Mercy after she posted about her Range Rover. Tacha had tweeted, “But is she me?” hinting at her distinct style and presence, which fueled speculation about rivalry.
That same year, when Ilebaye won the All Stars season, some of Tacha’s comments seemed to subtly challenge Mercy’s legacy, suggesting that Mercy might not have claimed her original season’s win if not for certain circumstances. Fans and fellow celebrities, including actress Iheme Nancy, were quick to defend Mercy, highlighting her enduring popularity and reminding everyone that she remains one of the most celebrated winners in the show’s history.
The tension between Mercy and Tacha traces back to the ‘Pepper Dem’ season, where a heated confrontation led to Tacha’s disqualification and Mercy’s eventual victory. Many believed Tacha could have taken the crown if not for the fallout. Following the incident, resentment lingered, with Tacha reportedly holding a grudge over the lost opportunity.
However, in 2022, the two stars publicly reconciled, addressing their long-standing feud and criticizing those who tried to keep them at odds. During a candid interview with Toke Makinwa, they emphasized that they no longer felt pressured to play into public expectations, noting that some people thrive on conflict between them. Their renewed friendship was further showcased when they joined Khloe Abiri on Instagram Live, proving that their relationship has moved past old grudges.
Now, with Tacha achieving another significant milestone, it seems their bond is stronger than ever, with mutual respect and celebration taking center stage.
