New Faces of NIFW: Winners Walk Away with ₦3 Million Each

Zoyols News

The fifth edition of the Nook International Fashion Weekend (NIFW) recently drew to a close, marking another successful milestone in its mission to reshape the Nigerian fashion landscape. This year’s finale was particularly memorable as the platform unveiled its latest “New Faces,” with Uranta Godswill and Peace-lover Thompson emerging as the primary beneficiaries of the event’s creative talent search.

In a move that highlights the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment, both honorees were awarded ₦3 million each.  The organizers view these rewards not merely as prizes, but as a strategic investment in the future of the industry. By providing significant financial backing, the platform aims to give young creatives the necessary leverage to build sustainable brands and navigate the competitive world of fashion.

Over the years, NIFW has grown from a local runway show into a prestigious hub for both rising and veteran designers. The event has consistently championed a unique blend of creativity and responsibility, focusing on themes like innovation, decency, and sustainability. This fifth edition served as a powerful reminder of how fashion can be used as a medium for cultural expression and a tool for social advocacy.

The impact of the weekend extends far beyond the runway, as the brand continues to lead vital conversations on responsible fashion practices. Looking ahead, the organizers have already set their sights on the sixth edition, which is slated for February 2027. This upcoming installment promises to be even more comprehensive, featuring a Model Summit and a Designer’s Summit designed to provide industry players with technical skills and business insights.

As the curtains fall on this edition, it is clear that NIFW remains dedicated to elevating Nigerian talent and putting it on the global map. With the success of its recent finale, the platform has solidified its role as a key driver of growth and professionalism within the nation’s vibrant creative economy.
