zoyolsblog

A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore and lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, who is part of the legal team representing detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The court also approved bail for Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, alongside ten other defendants. Each of the thirteen accused persons was granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties required in the same amount.

They are facing charges of inciting public disturbance and breaching the peace following the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest that took place in Abuja on October 20. Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and several others were arrested during the demonstration and subsequently remanded at the Kuje Correctional Facility.

Sowore, on the other hand, was arrested three days later, on October 23, at the Federal High Court premises in Abuja, where he had gone to show support during Nnamdi Kanu’s trial.

More updates on the case are expected soon, Zoyols Blog reports.
