Residents from several communities in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have declared their support for the governorship ambition of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, ahead of the February 6, 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was announced during a gathering held in Afikpo under the theme, Street Endorsement for Odii, where supporters expressed confidence in his ability to lead the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Ebonyi State Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mrs. Chinyere Nwele, described Odii’s aspiration as both timely and important. She said the state requires a leader with the vision, competence, and commitment needed to accelerate development and improve the lives of the people.
According to her, Odii possesses the experience, integrity, leadership qualities, and broad network necessary to reposition Ebonyi State for greater progress. She urged residents to unite behind his candidacy, warning that the state could face further challenges if leadership is entrusted to individuals without the required capacity and dedication.
Also speaking at the event, the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South in the 2027 elections, Mrs. Maria Nwachi, encouraged residents to support Odii’s governorship bid by participating actively in the electoral process.
Nwachi, who previously served as a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, described Odii as a leader who understands the needs of the people and has the ability to provide practical solutions to the state’s challenges. She expressed confidence that his administration would deliver meaningful transformation if elected.
The Peoples Democratic Party House of Assembly candidate for Afikpo North East Constituency, Mr. Iheukwumere Okogwu Otu, described the endorsement as an important milestone in the political journey toward the 2027 election. He said the turnout reflected the growing confidence many residents have in Odii’s leadership qualities and vision for the state.
Similarly, the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Afikpo North West Constituency, Ewa Chukwumaijem, urged residents to remain committed to the campaign by obtaining and safeguarding their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the election.
The event attracted supporters from different communities across Afikpo, many of whom publicly pledged their support for Chief Ifeanyi Odii as political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election continue to gather momentum.
