Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has raised serious concerns regarding the preliminary voter register ahead of the 2027 general elections, cautioning the Independent National Electoral Commission over alleged irregularities and questionable records.
The prominent political figure voiced his apprehension through a statement shared on his official social media page, pointing to suspected artificial intelligence-generated photographs found within the registration database. He stressed that leaving such alarming anomalies unaddressed could heavily damage public trust in the country’s electoral framework.
According to him, the situation casts a shadow of doubt over the entire voter registration process and raises pressing questions about the safeguards implemented by the electoral body to ward off potential manipulation. As the nation inches closer to 2027, he emphasized that the electoral commission owes the public transparent and satisfactory answers.
The concerns center on how such questionable images managed to find their way into the official register in the first place. He further challenged the authorities to clarify whether the affected individuals are legitimate voters and whether their identities underwent rigorous verification before being cleared.
