Angela Okorie Explains Why She Burned Burial Outfit

Zoyols News

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has explained why she decided to burn the outfit she wore to the burial of her late colleague, Alexx Ekubo.

The actor was laid to rest last week in his hometown of Aziukwubwo Ujori village in Arochukwu, Abia State. He reportedly passed away on May 11 after battling stage four kidney cancer.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Angela revealed that the decision was based on advice she received from her godmother, who told her it is not proper to keep clothes worn to a burial.

Sharing a photo of the outfit, the actress wrote that her godmother instructed her to burn it instead of keeping it after attending the funeral.

She wrote, “This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to keep the clothes you wore to a burial around you. You should burn them.

“So family and friends, take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen. Chaiii.”

Angela also posted a video showing the moment the outfit was set on fire.

The actress has also made headlines in recent months over her legal challenges.

In January, she was remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre after being arraigned over alleged cyber related offences.

Although authorities did not publicly disclose the details of the charges, reports linked the case to her long running dispute with fellow actress Mercy Johnson.

The controversy intensified last year after Angela alleged that Mercy Johnson was battling “an ailment I do not wish on my enemies,” a statement that attracted widespread reactions across social media.
