Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has set his sights firmly on delivering one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections, urging party faithful to begin aggressive grassroots mobilization immediately.
Speaking in Akure during the formal inauguration of the state’s All Progressives Congress Presidential Election Campaign Council, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that securing a resounding victory requires absolute unity and a return to the coalition-building strategies that brought the party to national prominence. He noted that while the platform remains the largest political organization in Nigeria and the wider African continent, sheer size alone will not guarantee electoral success without genuine internal cohesion among members.
The governor, who will personally chair the campaign council alongside its various directorates and sub-committees, stressed that the political battle ahead encompasses the presidency, National Assembly seats, and the state legislature. According to him, a unified front across all tiers of government is non-negotiable if the party hopes to maintain its mandate and continue safeguarding the interests of the local communities it represents.
Party leaders and stakeholders present at the event were charged to take the message down to the grassroots, bridging any internal divides to ensure a formidable showing when voters head to the polls.
