Shettima: Tinubu’s reforms saved Nigeria

Zoyols News
Vice President Kashim Shettima has asserted that the bold economic decisions championed by President Bola Tinubu pulled the nation back from the brink of a severe financial meltdown, noting that further hesitation would have plunged the country into an even deeper crisis.
Speaking to members of the City Boy Movement at the State House Conference Hall in Abuja, Shettima emphasized that the current administration chose the path of difficult structural corrections rather than kicking the can down the road. He pointed out that what truly sets this leadership apart is a genuine commitment to tackling deep-seated economic challenges head-on, crediting the President’s tenacity and foresight for steering the country away from inevitable economic disaster.
While acknowledging the heavy financial pressures ordinary citizens have faced during this transitional phase, the Vice President stressed that these sacrifices must ultimately yield tangible results in the form of improved livelihoods and expanded opportunities. He noted that leadership requires listening closely to public sentiment, adjusting strategies when necessary, and ensuring that government progress is measured by the actual daily experiences of households.
Beyond economic policymaking, Shettima highlighted the administration’s emphasis on inclusive governance and political cooperation. He described the ruling party as a unifying platform built on the President’s capacity to accommodate diverse interests, look beyond familiar circles for talent, and engage constructively with critics.
Turning to the grassroots advocacy of the City Boy Movement, the Vice President praised their role in clarifying complex policies, pushing back against misinformation, and fostering healthy political discourse across local communities. He remarked that their efforts have helped bridge the gap between the government and the governed, making tough policy decisions easier for the public to digest.
Looking toward the horizon, Shettima characterized the President as a leader whose developmental outlook stretches far beyond standard electoral calendars. Citing long-term infrastructure initiatives like the Atlantic coastline development, he noted that the administration prioritizes planning for future generations and emerging industries rather than chasing short-term applause.
Closing his address, Shettima commended the active involvement of young people in contemporary politics, assuring them that their dedication strengthens the nation’s democratic foundation. He urged the youth movement to remain steadfast in promoting national unity and responsible civic participation, promising that the government remains accountable to the aspirations of the younger generation.
