Egypt will host the CAF Women’s Champions League Final Competition for the second consecutive year after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the country as the venue for the 2026 edition.
The decision means Egypt will stage the prestigious women’s club competition for the third time, having previously hosted the inaugural edition in 2021.
The 2026 tournament is scheduled to take place from November 1 to 15, with eight clubs from across Africa set to battle for the continental title.
The participating teams will comprise the winners from CAF’s various regional zones, with several clubs already securing their places through their respective zonal competitions.
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, a two time winner of the competition, will represent the COSAFA region, while Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim secured the CECAFA slot. Cameroon will be represented by Lekie FF from the UNIFFAC zone, while Mali’s USFAS earned qualification through WAFU Zone A.
Morocco will have two representatives in the competition. Fath Union Sport (FUS) Rabat qualified through the UNAF qualifiers, while defending champions AS FAR Rabat will return to the tournament as they look to retain their continental crown.
Two places are still up for grabs. One will be awarded to the winner of the WAFU Zone B competition, while the final slot will go to the club that represents host nation Egypt.
The CAF Women’s Champions League has continued to grow in importance since its launch, providing Africa’s leading women’s clubs with a platform to compete against the best teams on the continent.
With the 2026 edition set to bring together champions from across Africa, the tournament is expected to provide another major stage for the growth and development of women’s football while giving the participating clubs an opportunity to compete for one of the continent’s most important club honours.
