Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, says his family remains close to that of former governor Peter Obi despite their political differences.
In an interview on Monday, Soludo clarified that Obi’s wife is the godmother of one of his children, while his wife, Nonye, is the confirmation godmother of Obi’s daughter. The relationship had drawn public attention in September.
“Peter Obi and I are good friends. Our two families are on good terms,” Soludo said, adding that their disagreement was over who should lead Anambra State.
Soludo said he had supported a different candidate and Obi backed someone else, but he held no grudge over the matter. He noted that he won the governorship contest “by the grace of God.”
