Nollywood star Uche Jombo has slammed a social media troll spreading false claims about her and singer Bella Shmurda. The troll alleged in an X post on Monday that Jombo had a sexual encounter with Shmurda back in 2021, before the artist rose to fame.
Responding firmly on Wednesday, the actress dismissed the claim as a “lie” and warned the troll to delete the post immediately or face legal consequences. “This is how some people think everything is clickbait until they end up in jail. Delete this lie immediately. I’m not one to play with. If you can’t respect my name, respect my age. This is your final warning. Remove my name and image from this,” Jombo wrote.
Online trolls and bloggers have been increasingly targeting celebrities with wild claims. Earlier this week, a Facebook blogger suggested that comedian Basketmouth’s 12-year marriage ended after discovering a paternity issue, a claim his estranged wife Elsie Uzoma Okpocha denied, cautioning that her children were “off limits.”
In March, musician Mr P also threatened legal action against an X user who insulted his late mother, Josephine Okoye. Celebrities continue to push back against online falsehoods, protecting their reputations and families.
