Actress Uche Montana has shared candid reflections on her journey from humble beginnings to stardom. Speaking on the Uncut Xtra podcast, she revealed that she started working from a young age to support herself and her family.
“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. My father ran a farm, my mother had a small business, and I grew up with three siblings—an elder sister, a younger brother, and sister. Family life was full of love and bonding,” she said, emphasizing the values that shaped her.
After completing secondary school, Montana took her first job as a nursery school teacher, earning a modest N10,000 monthly. “Growing up for me was a journey. Every step, every challenge, brought me to where I am today,” she reflected.
She also touched on how fame has shaped her personal life, particularly in relationships. “It would take a special kind of man to pursue a relationship with me and accept me fully,” Montana explained. While being in the spotlight has complicated dating, it has also provided her financial stability, allowing her to care for her family and enjoy a comfortable life. “Fame isn’t supposed to make love difficult, but in today’s world, it can,” she added.
Montana began her acting career in 2015, gaining prominence with her role as Lovina in the TV series Hush, which aired on Africa Magic Showcase and GOtv Africa from 2016 to 2017. Her performance earned her critical acclaim and helped cement her place in Nollywood.
Her story is a testament to resilience, hard work, and navigating the challenges of fame while staying grounded.
