Amstel Malta has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their commanding 6-2 win over Egypt in the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The victory came at just the right time, rewarding the team’s strong response after an unsteady start to the tournament.
The defending champions delivered a sharp attacking display that secured their spot in the quarter-finals, setting up a clash with old rivals Cameroon. After dropping their opening match to Malawi, the Falcons steadied themselves with solid wins against Zambia and then Egypt, turning the campaign around completely.
The brand’s ambassador, Asisat Oshoala, played a big part once again by converting a first-half penalty that gave Nigeria an early lead. Further strikes from Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe, captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Joy Omewa completed a comfortable and convincing result.
Francis Obiajulu, Senior Brand Manager at Amstel Malta, praised the character shown by the players. He noted how the side refused to let the early loss define their campaign and instead showed the unity and belief expected of champions. Obiajulu also highlighted Oshoala’s continued influence, saying her experience and consistent performances keep lifting both the team and fans across the country.
He linked the Falcons’ turnaround to the brand’s “Be Your Best” message, pointing out that success rarely comes in a straight line and that hard work can turn difficult moments into progress. With the quarter-final against Cameroon now just days away, he urged the players to stay sharp, stressing that every game from here will demand even more.
Amstel Malta said it remains fully behind the team as they defend their title and expressed confidence that the Falcons have the quality and mentality needed to go further and keep making the nation proud.
