Davido Goes on Music Break: My Songs Still Rule the Clubs

Zoyols News

Global music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has sent shockwaves through his fanbase by announcing an indefinite break from the music scene. The award-winning artist clarified his stance during a recent livestream, making it known that he has no immediate plans to head back into the studio for new recordings.

During the session, the “OBO” crooner expressed a high level of confidence in his current catalog, suggesting that his presence in the industry remains unshakable even without new releases. Davido pointed out that his music continues to dominate the night scene, noting that a significant portion of the tracks currently rocking club playlists are his hits. He urged fans to stop pressuring him for new material, stating that his current success allows him the luxury of stepping back for a while.

Beyond his musical update, Davido also shared his thoughts on the rising trend of celebrity boxing in Nigeria. He described the development as a breath of fresh air for the entertainment industry, calling it a positive movement that brings a different kind of energy to the fans. This endorsement comes at a time when the local boxing scene is gaining massive traction following high-profile bouts involving major personalities.

The singer’s comments on boxing follow a particularly heated event where well-known streamer Carter Efe defeated controversial artist Portable to claim a championship title. In the wake of that match, Portable has been vocal about his frustrations, alleging that many within the music industry are out to get him and have been unsupportive of his endeavors. While the drama in the ring continues to unfold, Davido seems content to watch from the sidelines as he enjoys his hard-earned sabbatical.
