Dennis Otuaro, the head of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, has called on the Ijaw Youth Council to rally support for President Tinubu’s second term bid in 2027. He made the appeal during a visit by the group’s new leadership in Abuja, stressing that backing the president serves the strategic interest of the Ijaw people and the wider Niger Delta region.
Otuaro urged the youths to avoid any division that could weaken the region’s political strength ahead of the election. He said it is important for the Ijaw nation to stand united behind the president and work towards his re-election.
In Kwara State, youth groups took to the streets to commend Tinubu for establishing a new Nigerian Army 9 Division in Ilorin. They described the move as a major step that will strengthen security, attract investors, and create jobs. The groups said the presence of the new division will help tackle insecurity in the state and neighbouring areas while boosting economic growth.
