Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh marked Mother’s Day with a heartfelt tribute to herself, celebrating the strength and determination that have carried her through difficult moments. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, the actress reflected on her journey, applauding herself for staying strong even during times when giving up would have seemed easier.
In her message, Tonto acknowledged the courage and faith that have guided her through life’s challenges. She praised herself for continuing to show up, believing in her purpose when doubts tried to overshadow it, and choosing growth, self-love, and resilience. According to her, rewriting her story meant refusing to be defined by where she started and instead focusing on the grace and strength shaping her future.
She also spoke about her faith, describing it as the foundation that has kept her grounded. For Tonto, serving God boldly and standing firm in her beliefs has played a major role in her personal transformation and the path she continues to walk today.
Alongside her reflection, the actress shared a clip of herself and her son, using the moment to appreciate her former partner, Olakunle Churchill, for making her a mother. She described motherhood as the most beautiful chapter of her life and extended Mother’s Day wishes to Churchill’s mother as well.
Tonto also addressed criticism from some social media users who questioned her message of appreciation. She maintained that Churchill remains the only man who made her a mother and said she refuses to let public opinions dictate how she chooses to express gratitude. According to her, people should not feel pressured to speak negatively about the fathers of their children.
Her love for her son has often been visible in the way she celebrates his milestones. On his 10th birthday, Tonto shared a touching moment of clergyman Pastor Jerry Eze praying over him. To mark the occasion, she and Churchill organized a lively football-themed celebration at BMO Event Centre in Abuja, filled with games, cheers, and family moments.
The celebration did not stop there. Tonto revealed that she had gifted her son a luxurious duplex reportedly worth N350 million. She explained that over the years she has been intentional about investing in properties for both herself and her child, expressing gratitude for being able to continue building a secure future for him.
Her generous gestures toward her son have been consistent over time. When he turned five in 2021, she surprised many by purchasing a real-life star in his name, explaining that she had run out of gift ideas because he already had so much. That same year, she also gifted him two acres of land, proudly sharing the certificate of ownership and describing him as the youngest cashew plantation owner.
Through every celebration and milestone, Tonto Dikeh continues to highlight the deep bond she shares with her son, while using moments like Mother’s Day to reflect on the strength, faith, and resilience that have defined her journey as a mother.
