Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured residents of Ife South Local Government Area that his administration will continue to expand development projects across their communities if given another term in office, insisting that his government’s achievements remain the strongest campaign message.
The governor made the pledge during his campaign visit to the area, where he was warmly welcomed by residents, traditional rulers and community leaders.
According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the campaign train was received at Awolowo Town by the Olu of Awolowo, Oba Yekinni Olayemi Olasoji Omisore, and the Olubosin of Ifetedo, Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera. They were joined by about 90 traditional rulers and 120 Baales, who applauded the governor’s performance and declared their support for his re election.
At the palace of the Olu of Awolowo, representatives of the Christian, Muslim and traditional faiths offered prayers for Adeleke’s success at the polls. The Olubosin of Ifetedo also reaffirmed his loyalty to both the governor and the Ooni of Ife.
Accompanied by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, the Director General of the Campaign, Senator Lere Oyewumi, Deputy Director General Kolapo Alimi, Accord Party State Chairman Victor Akande, Chairman of the Campaign Publicity Committee Bamidele Salam and other party leaders, Adeleke promised to sustain what he described as people focused governance across Osun State.
Addressing supporters, the governor said his administration had delivered projects across every local government in the state, adding that even greater progress would be achieved if he secures another mandate.
“Wherever we go in Osun, our good work speaks for us. We have touched every local government with infrastructure and other development projects. We will do even more if re elected,” Adeleke said.
As part of the visit, the governor inaugurated a three kilometre road in Ifetedo and assured residents that his administration was ready to tackle the community’s long standing electricity challenges.
He said the Ministry of Energy had already completed the necessary groundwork and expressed confidence that improved power supply would become a reality once his administration returns for a second term.
Adeleke also promised greater investment in rural infrastructure, education and healthcare, noting that plans were in place to recruit more medical personnel to improve healthcare services across the state.
While unveiling medical equipment donated by Yusuf Ali, SAN, to a healthcare facility in Ifetedo, the governor said another term in office would allow his administration to employ more workers in both the health and education sectors.
He maintained that the accomplishments recorded by his administration over the years provide a solid basis for seeking the support of the people for another term.
