Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have started preparations for the WAFU B U17 Championship with the invitation of 62 players to camp in Abuja. Head coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse named five goalkeepers, 18 defenders, 20 midfielders and 19 forwards for the screening and training sessions that will help shape the squad for the October tournament.
The players are expected to report immediately so the technical team, which includes assistants Kalli Mohammed Kachalla and Abdullahi Isa, can begin the work of building a competitive side. Nigeria has won the global U17 title five times before, and the coaching staff is keen to put together another strong group capable of performing at the highest level.
The call-up draws from various academies and clubs across the country, giving the coaches a wide pool to work with as they aim to identify the right combination for the regional championship.
