2026 World Cup: Five Last 16 Ties Confirmed

Zoyols News

The race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup title is beginning to take clearer shape, with five Round of 16 fixtures now confirmed as the knockout stage gathers pace.

Several teams have already seen their journey come to an end, including half of the 10 African nations that made it to the tournament. Asia, meanwhile, no longer has any country left in the competition, while all three co-host nations are still standing and remain in contention for a place in the quarter-finals.

The first Round of 16 showdown will be played on Saturday, July 4, with Canada set to face Morocco in what promises to be a keenly contested encounter. Later that same day, Paraguay will battle France for one of the available quarter-final spots.

Attention will then shift to Sunday, July 5, when Brazil go up against Norway in another high profile clash. Mexico are also scheduled to take on England in the early hours of Monday in a fixture expected to draw plenty of attention.

Another confirmed tie will see the United States face Belgium on Tuesday, after the Europeans booked their place in the next round with a narrow victory over Senegal in the Round of 32.
