National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi made this clear on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today. He explained that the party once believed a broad opposition alliance would strengthen its chances against the APC, but things changed after Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso moved to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Despite the shift, the ADC remains confident. Abdullahi noted that current talks among opposition parties now focus on practical areas of cooperation rather than fielding a single presidential candidate. The main areas being discussed include joint election monitoring and vote protection measures.
“The ADC doesn’t need a coalition to win this 2027 election,” he stated, adding that while a coalition would make things easier, it is not required for victory.
