A pro-Mbah group in Enugu, Progressives Erstwhile Ward Executives (PEWEX), has endorsed Governor Peter Mbah for a second term in 2027, insisting that the zoning arrangement among the state’s three senatorial zones should be respected.
Speaking at the endorsement rally held at the ALGON office in Enugu, the group’s Coordinating Chairman, Ozo Ejike Okpe, said Enugu has consistently followed the zoning principle since 1999, with each governor completing two terms. He argued that Mbah should be allowed to finish his eight years before the turn moves to Enugu West.
Former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dan Shere, said Mbah deserves another term because of his visible performance across the state. He noted that government presence has reached every ward, including those that had never benefited from any project before now.
Engineer Mike Ogbuekwe, the APC chairmanship candidate for Nkanu East, described PEWEX as a strong and reliable group and urged members to campaign vigorously for Mbah’s re-election.
Keynote speaker, Prof. Damian Opata, also called on the group to sustain the momentum of good governance by supporting the governor to complete his second term, adding that everyone is already benefiting from the administration’s initiatives.
