2027: PDP Vows to Resist Gombe Election Rigging

Zoyols News

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Gombe State, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has declared that the party will firmly resist any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 governorship election, insisting that the will of the people must prevail.

Pantami made the statement on Wednesday during an interactive meeting with PDP members and supporters drawn from Nafada and several other local government areas across the state.

Speaking in Hausa, he urged the Gombe State Government and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to ensure that the electoral process remains free, fair and transparent when campaigns officially begin. He maintained that the credibility of the election must not be compromised.

According to him, the people of Gombe are determined to make their votes count, adding that no individual or group should expect to alter the outcome of the election through manipulation or any other unlawful means.

The PDP candidate explained that his campaign would focus on presenting practical ideas and addressing issues that matter to the people rather than engaging in insults, personal attacks or political provocation. He expressed confidence that voters in the state are now more informed and will make decisions based on performance and credible alternatives.

Pantami also encouraged residents to reject intimidation and participate freely in the electoral process. He said the PDP remains committed to removing the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from power through lawful and democratic means, stressing that the ballot box remains the party’s only path to victory.

He further criticised the APC led administration in the state, accusing it of falling short in delivering meaningful development. He alleged that government contracts have largely been awarded to a limited group of individuals instead of being distributed in a way that benefits the wider population.

Pantami concluded by appreciating party members and supporters for their continued loyalty and dedication, urging them to remain united and sustain their momentum as preparations for the 2027 general election gather pace.
