Airtel Nigeria has significantly bolstered its physical presence by opening 350 new retail shops across the country. This expansion is a key milestone in the company’s wider strategic goal to establish 500 premium experience centers, ensuring that their services remain easily accessible to users in various communities.
The official launch took place at City Mall in Onikan, Lagos, but the reach of this new network extends far beyond the commercial hub. These shops are now operational in multiple cities, including Lekki, Marina, Magodo, Abeokuta, Benin, Abakaliki, Kano, and Abuja. Each location is equipped to handle essential customer needs, ranging from SIM registration and data subscriptions to broadband services, enterprise solutions, and general customer support.
During the launch event, Airtel Nigeria’s Director of Sales and Distribution, Joypratip Sengupta, highlighted that the move is driven by a commitment to prioritizing the customer. According to Zoyols News, the company expects these localized centers to significantly streamline transaction times. By decentralizing these services, Airtel aims to alleviate pressure on their larger flagship locations, allowing customers to resolve their issues closer to home and with much greater efficiency.
Lynda Amechi, the Head of Shops and Retail Postpaid Business, noted that this new model was a direct response to feedback from customers who had grown frustrated with long wait times at larger outlets. By creating a faster service environment, the company believes it can provide a more seamless experience for everyday transactions.
This retail push is just one component of a larger customer-centric roadmap for the brand. Alongside these physical upgrades, the company is continuing to invest in digital self-service platforms, AI-driven support tools, and ongoing network infrastructure development to ensure they stay ahead of the evolving needs of their subscriber base.
