zoyolsblog

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested in connection with a cybercrime case involving fellow actress Mercy Johnson.

According to filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi, Angela was taken into custody at her Lagos residence by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja. She reportedly spent the night at Yaba Panti due to the unavailability of a flight to Abuja at the time of her arrest. She was later placed on a 6 a.m. flight and is now en route to face court proceedings.

Last year, Angela publicly apologised to Mercy Johnson, admitting that her past remarks had been hurtful. She explained that her emotions had sometimes gotten the better of her and expressed gratitude for having learned from her mistakes. Despite this, the feud between the two actresses has persisted for years, with Angela occasionally reigniting tensions over undisclosed matters.

In a 2024 Instagram Live session, Angela accused Mercy and her mother of witchcraft, claiming involvement in alleged misfortunes within Nollywood. She also shared that she had unfollowed Mercy Johnson’s goddaughter, Regina Daniels, among others, citing spiritual and personal frustration. Angela asserted that attempts to harm her had failed and insisted she could not be silenced, physically or spiritually.

The ongoing cybercrime case marks the latest chapter in a long-standing and complex dispute between the two actresses, drawing attention from fans and industry observers alike.
