Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay Idibia has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians, urging them to support her latest movie project.
The actress shared a video on her Instagram page featuring veteran actor Nkem Owoh. In the lighthearted clip, Annie appeared emotional as she jokingly expressed disappointment over the response to the film. When Nkem Owoh asked what was bothering her, she replied that she was unhappy because many Nigerians had not yet watched the movie.
Appealing directly to her followers and movie lovers, Annie called on fans to show their support by watching the film, noting that she was honoured to be working alongside the respected actor.
The appeal comes shortly after her return to Nollywood. As earlier reported by Zoyols News, Annie recently announced her comeback to acting with a video from a movie set. She described acting as something very close to her heart and expressed excitement about returning to the screen. She also appreciated the opportunities, growth and fresh chapter that have allowed her to continue telling stories through film.
Her return follows a period of major personal changes. After her separation from music star 2Baba, Annie signalled a fresh start by clearing her Instagram page of previous posts and photos. She later shared a message of gratitude to those who stood by her during some of her most difficult moments.
Since then, the actress has been embracing a new phase of life. She made her first notable public appearance after the separation during a visit to actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Ned Nwoko, at their Abuja residence. Videos from the visit showed Annie spending time with the couple in a cheerful atmosphere.
She also accompanied them on an official visit to the National Youth Service Corps headquarters in Abuja, where they met with the organisation’s new Director General.
The mother of two has continued to record positive developments in her career. Just months after news of her divorce became public, she secured a new endorsement deal, marking another milestone in her journey.
Through several social media posts in recent months, Annie has shared reflections on growth, healing and self worth. In one emotional message, she expressed hope that her daughter would always recognise her value and never settle for less than she deserves. In another post, she suggested that she has chosen to focus on moving forward, stating that she simply archives the past and continues with life.
