APC Chairman Meets Kwankwaso Ally Amid Kano Tensions

Zoyols News

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has said his recent meeting with Senator Rufai Hanga, a prominent figure in the Nigeria Democratic Congress and a longtime associate of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was aimed at fostering peace, unity and development in Kano State.

Yilwatda made this known in a statement issued on Thursday after paying a courtesy visit to the senator. According to him, their discussions focused on issues affecting Kano and the need for political leaders, regardless of party affiliation, to work together in the interest of the people.

Describing the meeting as cordial and productive, the APC chairman said the conversation centred on the future of Kano State, with emphasis on strengthening peace, promoting stability and encouraging cooperation among political stakeholders.

He stressed that political differences should never become obstacles to meaningful engagement, adding that leaders have a responsibility to put the welfare of citizens ahead of partisan interests.

Yilwatda also noted that Nigeria would achieve greater progress when political leaders embrace dialogue, mutual understanding and collaboration rather than allowing rivalry to overshadow the country’s development.

The visit comes at a time of reported tensions between Senator Hanga and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, following a series of remarks made by the lawmaker in recent months.

Hanga had openly expressed dissatisfaction after losing his party’s ticket to Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna. He also alleged that Kwankwaso was considering handing the Kano State governorship ticket to his son, Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a claim that has continued to generate political discussions within the state.
