After enjoying sold out performances in Lagos and South Africa, Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman is set to captivate audiences in the United Kingdom as it makes its London debut.
Bolanle Austen Peters Productions will present the acclaimed stage play at the Shaw Theatre on Euston Road for a special three day engagement from August 7 to August 9, 2026. Theatre lovers will have the opportunity to watch the production during daily performances scheduled for 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
The production company, widely recognised for successful stage works including Saro The Musical, Wakaa! and Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, said the London performance reflects its commitment to taking authentic African stories to audiences across the world.
In a statement, the company expressed excitement about bringing Dear Kaffy to the UK, describing it as a moving story centred on self worth, resilience and the courage to choose one’s own path. It noted that although the story is set in Lagos, its themes are relatable to people from different backgrounds and cultures.
The play follows the life of Kikelomo, popularly known as Kike Olota, a successful 35 year old woman navigating the realities of being single in modern day Lagos. As she balances career ambitions, family expectations, relationships and society’s constant pressure, her journey unfolds in a way that is both deeply rooted in Nigerian culture and universally familiar.
Blending humour, emotional moments and live music, Dear Kaffy explores identity, womanhood, love and the search for authenticity. Its story resonates not only with audiences in Nigeria but also with members of the African diaspora and anyone who has struggled to balance personal dreams with the expectations of others.
Over the past decade, Bolanle Austen Peters Productions has played a major role in transforming Nigeria’s theatre landscape through celebrated productions such as Motherland The Musical, Death and the King’s Horseman and Wakaa! The Musical.
With Dear Kaffy now heading to one of London’s prominent theatres, the company is expanding the reach of Nigerian storytelling while introducing international audiences to a heartfelt and contemporary story that reflects the experiences of many modern African women.
