Nigerian singer Chike has come forward with claims that he was allegedly defrauded by a social media user, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili.
In a series of posts on X Monday morning, the singer alleged that he had handed over $20,000 to Chioma for a business venture, only to realize later that the promised deal never materialized. Chike described the experience as shocking, revealing that he discovered he might have been one of several people allegedly duped by her.
He wrote, “Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money. $50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard-earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped. Even me I de laugh myself.”
Chike used the posts to caution his followers against engaging in any business with the woman. When asked about the specifics of the transaction, he emphasized that the details of the business were irrelevant. “Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud,” he stated.
The singer confirmed that he has begun taking steps to recover the alleged lost funds. As of now, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has not responded to Chike’s allegations.
This situation has sparked conversations online, with fans urging caution when entering into financial deals with unknown parties.
