Dangote to Receive Expo Africa Brazil 2026 Leadership Award

Zoyols News

Aliko Dangote has been selected for the Expo Africa Brazil Leadership Award 2026, the highest honour to be given by the organisers of the upcoming trade summit in Brazil.

The decision received unanimous approval from the Expo’s International Honours Committee. The award will be formally presented to Dangote during the three-day event scheduled to hold in Brazil from December 3 to 5, 2026.

In a statement by João Canda, President of Expo Africa Brazil, the organisers said the honour goes beyond Dangote’s business success. It also recognises his long-standing contributions to Africa’s industrial growth, job creation, and stronger participation in global trade.

Canda noted that Dangote embodies the vision the platform seeks to promote through bold leadership, cross-continental partnerships, and large-scale projects that deliver real impact.

The summit is expected to draw over 1,000 participants, including government officials, business leaders, and representatives from more than 25 African countries. Senior officials from the Brazilian government and international organisations are also expected to attend.

The event will focus on strengthening trade relations between Africa and Brazil through policy discussions, sector panels, and business engagements covering investment, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology, and finance.

According to the organisers, Dangote’s recognition highlights the growing role of African industries in global supply chains. As the founder of one of the continent’s largest conglomerates with major interests in cement, agriculture, and energy, he has driven some of Africa’s most ambitious industrial projects.

Canda emphasised that Africa and Brazil have complementary strengths — Africa’s growing population and productive capacity alongside Brazil’s market access and industrial expertise. He added that leaders like Dangote show what is possible when long-term investment meets Africa’s potential.
