Dunsin Oyekan Addresses Surge in Attacks on Churches

ZoyolsBlog

Renowned gospel singer and minister Dunsin Oyekan has expressed deep sorrow over the recent surge in violent attacks across Nigeria.

Through his official X account, Oyekan mourned the loss of innocent lives and condemned the ongoing acts of brutality that have continued to shake communities nationwide.

The wave of violence includes a deadly attack on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State on Tuesday evening, where gunmen reportedly killed three worshippers and abducted several others, including the church pastor. This tragic incident came just a day after suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Bama Local Government Area in Borno State, killing eight people.

Oyekan described the Kwara attack as ruthless and called into question the effectiveness of government measures in tackling the country’s mounting security challenges. He offered prayers for justice and divine intervention, writing:

“May the Lord judge the enemies of this nation once and for all in this season. These killings are too much, senseless, and cruel! Psalm 82:1-8 is my prayer in this season. And we have a government abi?”

The rising insecurity has ignited widespread concern on social media, with citizens urging authorities to act swiftly to protect lives and prevent further tragedies.
