Edo State is firmly positioning itself to deliver a resounding victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming January 2027 general elections.
Governor Monday Okpebholo made this declaration following an inspection tour of the Edo State Presidential Campaign Council secretariat in Benin City, where he was led by the council’s Director General, Senator Mathew Urhoghide. Expressing satisfaction with the extensive renovation works carried out at the complex, the governor noted that the state is fully prepared to anchor the ruling party’s campaign machinery.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele said that the governor emphasized that the electorate in the state is completely aligned with the administration’s vision. He maintained that the state’s voting bloc is locked in for a second term for President Tinubu, alongside all other party candidates vying for Senate, House of Representatives, and state legislative seats.
Addressing journalists after evaluating the facility, Governor Okpebholo stated that the groundwork has already been laid for a smooth electoral outing. He stressed that the momentum on the ground reflects a settled agenda for the 2027 polls, emphasizing that the collective resolve of the state’s voters remains non-negotiable. With preparations nearing completion, he urged citizens across the state to come out en masse on January 16 to perform their civic obligations.
Earlier during the visit, Senator Urhoghide expressed appreciation to the governor and top party stakeholders for inspecting the campaign headquarters. He explained that the infrastructure upgrade was crucial to providing a conducive environment for driving the party’s message to the electorate, while calling for continued partnership with the media as the campaign season gathers steam.
