Ekiti Poll: Mark, Aregbesola Confident of ADC Win

Zoyols News

Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, alongside the party’s National Secretary and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, have expressed confidence that the ADC will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election.

The party leaders made their position known on Tuesday during a mega campaign rally in Ado Ekiti, where thousands of supporters gathered to show solidarity with the ADC governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, ahead of the June 20 off cycle election.

Addressing the crowd, Mark criticised the performance of the All Progressives Congress administration in Ekiti State, insisting that residents deserve better leadership. He urged voters to support the ADC, describing the party as a credible alternative capable of improving the state’s fortunes and tackling the economic challenges confronting the people.

According to him, the ruling party has failed to deliver meaningful dividends of democracy, adding that the ADC is prepared to provide purposeful leadership that will improve the lives of Ekiti residents.

Aregbesola also dismissed claims that the ADC lacks the political strength to challenge the APC in the election. He maintained that the true measure of any political party is determined at the ballot box, not through public perception or political rhetoric.

He expressed optimism that the ADC would secure victory if the election is conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner, warning against any attempt to manipulate the electoral process.

According to Aregbesola, the APC should not underestimate the opposition, stressing that political dominance should never be taken for granted.

He said, “If truly they want to go to the poll without writing results, they can never win that election,” insisting that the final outcome should reflect the genuine choice of the people.

The rally formed part of the ADC’s intensified campaign activities across Ekiti State as political parties continue to mobilise support ahead of the governorship election, Zoyols News reports.
