Elsie Speaks Out on Basketmouth Divorce Rumors

zoyolsnews

Elsie Okpocha, ex-wife of Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, has broken her silence on recent viral claims suggesting their marriage ended due to paternity issues. Online reports alleged that Basketmouth is not the father of Elsie’s children, sparking widespread speculation.

Taking to Instagram, Elsie challenged the rumors and questioned whether Basketmouth was even aware of such statements being circulated. She addressed social media bloggers directly, insisting they leave her children out of the false narratives.

“All you Facebook bloggers fabricating lies. Is Basketmouth aware he made that statement? You can create unimaginable stories about me, but please leave my kids out of this nonsense,” she wrote.

Basketmouth had previously announced the end of their decade-long marriage in 2023 via Instagram, emphasizing their commitment to co-parent peacefully and asking the public to respect their privacy.

The following year, an Instagram blogger named media personality Victoria as allegedly the woman involved in Basketmouth’s separation. According to the post, the two reportedly maintained a relationship after the comedian and Elsie parted ways.

Elsie has also been vocal about parenting struggles post-divorce. Last year, she called out Basketmouth for instructing their 16-year-old son not to share his password with her, describing it as an attempt to frustrate her pursuit of happiness.

Despite past hardships, Elsie has focused on empowerment and resilience. She has shared advice for women dealing with unfaithful spouses, emphasizing that even a woman who is beautiful, accomplished, and loving may still face betrayal. More recently, she encouraged women navigating breakups or divorce to reclaim their joy, assuring them that brighter days lie ahead.

Through it all, Elsie has maintained a firm boundary between her personal life and her children, showing strength and grace while navigating public scrutiny.
