The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has reached out to the Muslim faithful across Nigeria, urging them to use the sacred month of Ramadan as a period of intense intercession for the country. Speaking from his palace in Bida, Niger State, the traditional ruler emphasized that while the nation faces various hurdles, prayer remains the most potent tool available to any people seeking a way out of difficulty.

The monarch, who also serves as the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, expressed optimism that the security challenges currently troubling the land can be addressed through spiritual dedication. He noted that the prevailing issues of banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency require more than just physical efforts; they require a collective turning toward the Almighty for guidance and protection.

The Etsu Nupe highlighted that this holy month is not just a time for fasting, but a unique opportunity to seek divine intervention in Nigeria’s socio-economic and security affairs. He believes that if the faithful remain persistent and fervent in their supplications, the country will see a restoration of permanent peace and stability.

Beyond the focus on security, the traditional leader also pointed out that the current economic hardships facing many households could be alleviated if citizens leverage this auspicious season to ask for God’s wisdom for the nation’s leadership. He reminded the public that Ramadan is a time of mercy and that no problem is too great for a people united in faith and sincerity.

As the fasting period continues, the monarch’s message serves as a call to action for Muslims to prioritize the welfare of the nation in their daily prayers. He concluded by wishing all participants a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, expressing hope that by the end of the month, Nigeria will begin to see a tangible shift toward progress and lasting harmony.
