CSCS has reduced several charges in its latest pricing update, cutting retail lien fees in half and eliminating costs for family securities transfers.
The new structure slashes retail lien fees from 0.25% to 0.125% for investors holding below N100 million. Transfers of securities between immediate family members, such as spouses, parents, children, and siblings, will now be free of charge. Fees for creating or renewing broker codes and eligibility payments for brokers on NGX, NASD, and LCFE have also been removed entirely.
The move comes six months after CSCS raised several fees across retail and institutional services earlier this year. The latest adjustments are aimed at easing transaction costs, encouraging more retail participation, and supporting liquidity in the capital market. CSCS said the changes will help lower operating costs for brokers while making it simpler and cheaper for investors to hold and move securities.
The company noted that the review is part of its ongoing effort to strengthen post-trade infrastructure and boost participation in Nigeria’s capital market.
