Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially renewed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s pursuit of a second term in the 2027 presidential race. This commitment was reaffirmed on Sunday during the governor’s victory address following his own successful re-election campaign in Osun State.
According to information obtained by Zoyols News, Adeleke used the opportunity to express his gratitude toward the President, highlighting what he characterized as the administration’s commitment to ensuring the electoral process in Osun remained free and fair. The governor, who had previously declared his backing for the President, went on to describe him as a native son of the state, further solidifying the political alliance despite their different party affiliations.
The governor shared that the President reached out to extend his congratulations personally even before the official results were declared by the electoral commission. This gesture of goodwill seems to have deepened the bond between the two leaders following a hard-fought local contest.
Adeleke secured his second term by defeating his primary opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress. The final tallies showed Adeleke finished with 511,067 votes, comfortably ahead of Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress followed in third place with 17,180 votes. By standing firmly behind the President’s 2027 ambitions, the governor is signaling a clear focus on inter-party cooperation moving forward.
