Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi has opened up about her relationship with her mother, speaking with honesty and emotional maturity about the distance between them. In a recent conversation on Channels TV, she shared that despite past misunderstandings, she is willing to let go of the pain and move forward with her life.

She explained that growing up, their bond was not particularly strong. According to her, the relationship between them had always been complicated, even before she rose to fame. Imisi said she has come to understand that life circumstances and struggles may have shaped her mother’s actions, especially the challenges that come with raising a child alone. That understanding, she said, has helped her approach the situation with more compassion than anger.

The reality TV star emphasized that she does not carry bitterness in her heart. Speaking about forgiveness, she stated that she has been able to forgive people who are not even family members, so forgiving her mother is something she believes is possible if the right time and emotional healing come together. She also shared that both of them are currently doing well in their personal lives, even though their relationship remains somewhat distant.

During the interview, she spoke softly about her mother, saying she hopes she continues to grow as a person and stay close to faith. She added that being a mother herself is something she deeply respects, because she understands the pain, sacrifice, and emotional strength it takes to bring a child into the world. Her words carried a sense of maturity as she reflected on life, family, and forgiveness.

Their relationship came into public discussion months after her Big Brother Naija victory when videos began circulating online showing her mother accusing her of neglect. Addressing the issue, Imisi clarified that their problems were not caused by her sudden fame. She explained that the distance between them had existed long before she became a public figure, and that she had always tried to be supportive despite the emotional challenges involved.
