Infinix has officially launched the GT 50 Pro in Nigeria, introducing a new gaming focused smartphone built around powerful hardware, advanced cooling technology and a range of software features designed for serious mobile gamers.
The GT 50 Pro is positioned as the latest centrepiece of Infinix’s growing New GT Ecosystem, bringing together the company’s gaming smartphone, accessories and AIoT devices. Rather than focusing only on raw specifications, the new device combines physical controls, thermal management and software optimisation to deliver a more complete gaming experience.
A major highlight is the phone’s HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture, which is designed to manage heat during demanding gaming sessions. Infinix says the system helps maintain stable performance by continuously moving heat away from key components, allowing gamers to play for longer without significant performance drops.
According to Infinix Product Director Weiqi Nie, the GT 50 Pro reflects the company’s effort to move mobile gaming beyond the traditional smartphone experience by combining its latest cooling technology with specially developed software and accessories.
The GT 50 Pro is built around three major areas of focus: physical control, thermal performance and intelligent software optimisation.
Physical controls meet a hypercar inspired design
One of the phone’s most distinctive features is its Open Cut Pressure Sense GT Trigger system. The device comes with two mechanical pressure sensitive triggers designed to give gamers more precise control during intense gameplay.
The triggers support light presses, heavy presses and sliding gestures, while each trigger can have up to four mapping points and 10 pressure levels. Infinix says latency is kept below 20 milliseconds and the triggers are designed to withstand more than three million presses.
The controls can be customised for functions such as aiming, activating skills and switching weapons. They can also serve as shortcuts for other phone functions, including screenshots, screen recording, memory cleaning, Off Screen Gaming mode and Select and Search.
Users can even summon the Folax AI assistant by sliding both triggers inward. Outside gaming, the triggers can be assigned to launch applications, control media playback and manage lighting effects. Within the camera app, they can also be used for photography, video recording and zoom control.
The phone’s design takes inspiration from high performance cars, with a transparent Pipeline Window Display that allows users to see the movement of the liquid cooling system. The design is complemented by aerodynamic details and a kevlar inspired finish.
The GT 50 Pro comes in Black Abyss, Red Blaze and Silver Glacier. Its Mechanical Light Waves lighting system features four LED strips around the cooling window, with 14 lighting scenarios and eight customisable colours.
Cooling system built for sustained gaming
For serious gamers, managing heat is just as important as having a powerful processor. Infinix has therefore placed considerable emphasis on the GT 50 Pro’s cooling system.
The phone uses a micro pump liquid cooling system that provides 100 per cent coverage of the core heat sources. The cooling system has a 6,437 square millimetre diaphragm area, which Infinix describes as the industry’s largest micro pump liquid cooling solution.
The cooling network uses precision channels created with micron level laser technology, while a piezoelectric driven ceramic heat pump circulates coolant at 6.5ml per minute.
The company says the setup is designed to improve heat transfer and maintain stable frame rates during extended periods of demanding gameplay.
The GT 50 Pro can also work with the GT MagCharge Cooler 2.0. When paired with the smartphone, the accessory introduces wireless bypass charging, directing power to the computing chipset rather than relying entirely on the battery.
Infinix says this approach helps reduce heat and battery stress during intensive use. The cooler also provides 12W of active thermoelectric cooling, giving gamers another way to keep temperatures under control during long sessions.
AI and software features target competitive gamers
The GT 50 Pro runs on XOS 16 and comes with a collection of gaming and AI features designed to improve responsiveness and simplify gameplay.
Its Hardcore Esports Mode is designed to transform the phone into a dedicated gaming environment with a redesigned interface, gaming wallpapers and animations. It can also block system gestures and notifications to minimise distractions while playing.
Another major feature is Native 144FPS support, which Infinix says has been certified for six major esports titles. These include Call of Duty Mobile, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Free Fire.
The high frame rate is designed to provide smoother movement and faster visual response, giving competitive players greater clarity during fast moving encounters.
The company has also worked with game publishers through its GT Gaming Co Lab programme. This collaboration has contributed to features such as the AI Frame Rescue Engine and Game Thermal Control Engine, which are designed to reduce frame drops and maintain smoother gameplay.
AI Smart Trigger can automate certain actions and macros, including preset moves and auto reload functions. AI Voice Prompt provides real time audio alerts, while AI ZoneTouch Master identifies on screen controls and adjusts touch response.
For communication, AI Magic Voice Changer provides 25 voice options with additional customisation. Folax 5.0 also has Instant Trigger Access, allowing gamers to access the AI assistant without leaving their gaming session.
Infinix is also promising three years of operating system updates and five years of security updates for the device.
Powerful hardware and large battery
At the centre of the GT 50 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate processor, built on a 4nm all big core architecture.
The chipset supports MediaTek’s Frame Rate Converter technology, which uses GPU frame interpolation to improve gameplay smoothness while maintaining visual quality. It can reach speeds of up to 3.25GHz.
Infinix says the phone recorded an AnTuTu score of more than 2,224,634, representing a 26.45 per cent improvement over the previous GT 30 Pro.
Powering the device is a battery with a capacity of up to 6,500mAh. It supports 45W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, while reverse wired charging provides up to 10W for compatible accessories.
Connectivity is also a key part of the gaming experience. The GT 50 Pro uses Infinix’s N1 network management chip, which the company says can deliver up to 60 per cent stronger signal performance to help reduce ping and lag during gameplay.
1.5K display designed for gaming and entertainment
The smartphone features a 6.78 inch 1.5K display with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and full DCI P3 colour gamut coverage.
For extended use, the display supports 2,304Hz PWM dimming and carries TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification. A Motion Sickness Relief Display feature is also included to improve comfort when using the phone while in motion.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and supports five refresh rate options ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz, allowing the phone to balance smooth performance with battery efficiency.
Audio is handled with Dolby Atmos support, providing more directional and immersive sound in compatible games and entertainment content. Users can select from Smart, Movie, Gaming and Music modes depending on what they are doing.
Camera system adds versatility beyond gaming
Although gaming remains the main focus, the GT 50 Pro also comes with a capable camera setup.
The rear system includes a 50MP main camera with OIS and EIS, alongside an 8MP ultra wide camera. A 13MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
Infinix’s AI RAW processing is designed to improve colour accuracy and image clarity, while AI Studio and Live Photo provide additional tools for editing and capturing moving moments.
New GT Ecosystem expands beyond the smartphone
The GT 50 Pro is also designed to serve as the centre of Infinix’s wider New GT Ecosystem.
Among the accompanying products are the GTBUDS 5, which support Dolby Atmos, sub 50ms latency, a 360 degree soundstage and 50dB hybrid active noise cancellation.
The GTWATCH 5 Pro is designed to act as a secondary screen while also offering features such as independent GNSS positioning, sports tracking, automatic workout detection and Bluetooth heart rate broadcasting.
Infinix has also teased the GT Game Controller, which is expected to provide improved ergonomics and enhanced haptic feedback by working with the phone’s internal vibration system.
Pricing and availability
The Infinix GT 50 Pro is now available in Nigeria through Jumia in Black Abyss, Red Blaze and Silver Glacier colour options.
Buyers can choose between 256GB and 512GB storage configurations, with both variants offering 12GB of RAM and up to 12GB of additional virtual RAM expansion.
