Olajide Adediran, the driving force behind the Lagos4Lagos Movement and a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress, has formally committed his political machinery to backing the party’s candidates for the 2027 general elections. In a show of strength and solidarity, Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, led a delegation of approximately 300 supporters to the campaign office of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro in Ikeja.
Reports gathered that the high-level meeting served as a strategic platform to integrate the Lagos4Lagos movement into the broader grassroots mobilisation framework of the APC. Addressing the gathering, Adediran emphasized that his renewed focus on party unity stems from a deep-seated respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s leadership. He noted that even during recent local government elections, where his group did not field candidates, they remained committed to the party’s success by actively campaigning and promoting the APC agenda across the state.
The speed of the assembly—organised in less than 24 hours following an invitation from the campaign leadership—highlighted the readiness of the movement to hit the ground running. Adediran revealed plans to embed at least two representatives in every one of the more than 13,000 polling units across Lagos. For his team, the primary objective is ensuring a resounding victory for President Tinubu in 2027, with a specific focus on reclaiming the electoral ground lost during the 2023 cycle. Adediran stressed that a victory for the President in Lagos is non-negotiable for the party’s collective success, framing the upcoming campaign as a necessary mission to correct the anomalies of the previous election.
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, acting on behalf of the campaign organization for the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, welcomed the collaboration. He highlighted that one of the campaign’s core lessons from 2023 is the urgent need to drive up voter turnout. Obanikoro urged the new arrivals to blend seamlessly into their respective wards and local government areas, noting that the campaign will operate through a decentralized strategy to ensure maximum grassroots engagement.
He further championed Dr. Hamzat as an exceptionally qualified candidate, citing his extensive experience as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State as the perfect preparation for the governorship. The message from the campaign leadership is clear: the party intends to leave nothing to chance, emphasizing that the state requires tested leadership to deliver for both the Presidency and the governorship.
