Nollywood veteran Jim Iyke has once again sparked conversations online with a unique and somewhat cryptic message specifically directed toward men. The actor took to his social media page to share a prayer for those he describes as “strong men,” distinguishing them from “boys.” In his message, he urged men to carry themselves with a sense of romantic intentionality, praying that they would approach their interests with flowers and chocolate in situations where others might only think of lubricants and condoms.
This latest piece of advice is part of a series of bold statements the actor has made regarding modern relationships. Not long ago, he offered a blunt perspective on the financial dynamics between couples, suggesting that if every single visit to a woman requires a financial transaction, the arrangement has shifted from a relationship into something closer to prostitution. Iyke believes that a man focused on building a legacy or an “empire” needs a partner who adds value, rather than someone who constantly seeks validation and attention from the public.
Despite his outspoken nature on social media, Jim Iyke has managed to keep the finer details of his personal life under wraps for years. It was only in 2022 that he surprised many by revealing he had been married twice and has three children. He explained that his unpredictable nature and strategic approach to privacy are the reasons the public remained in the dark about when those marriages started or ended.
He has also shown a rare level of vulnerability and accountability regarding his past. A few years back, he gained widespread respect when he openly blamed the failure of his marriage on his inability to handle the emotional toll of his mother’s death. He admitted that the grief caused him to detach emotionally from his wife, eventually leading to the collapse of the union.
Many fans still remember his highly publicized relationship with Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari, which culminated in a proposal on his reality show years ago. However, Iyke eventually cleared the air on that chapter of his life. The actor later claimed the relationship was largely scripted and designed to boost the show’s ratings, proving once again that with Jim Iyke, things are rarely as they seem on the surface.
