Former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed reports suggesting that he is preparing to defect to the All Progressives Congress or any other political party.
The speculation gained traction after claims circulated online that the former governor had submitted a letter of intent signaling his move to the ruling party. Kwankwaso firmly denied the allegation, stressing that he has not made any such submission.
In a statement issued on Friday, he clarified that the rumours were entirely unfounded. “We have been alerted to some online statements suggesting that we have submitted a letter of intent to join a political party in the country. We would like to state clearly that we have not made any such submission to any party,” he said.
Kwankwaso urged the public to disregard the reports and rely only on verified updates from his official communication channels regarding his political decisions.
