Kwara Sets ₦5m Deposit for 2027 Hajj Pilgrims

Zoyols News

Kwara has set the initial Hajj deposit at ₦5 million for intending pilgrims heading to the 2027 pilgrimage. The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board announced that pilgrims must pay this amount upfront with a valid international passport, while the remaining balance must be settled by the end of November 2026.

Board Executive Secretary Abdulsalam Abdulkadir said preparations for the 2027 Hajj have already begun, with efforts focused on ensuring a smooth and well-organized trip. He urged prospective pilgrims to make payments only through the board’s approved banks and channels and to submit all required documents within the set deadlines.

Abdulkadir also advised those planning to travel to renew their passports early if they expire before April 2027 to avoid last-minute issues. The board has also introduced better airlift arrangements that will cut down the number of trips needed to transport pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
