Lagos has begun enforcing its 2026 parking permit regulations, with the Lagos State Parking Authority issuing warnings of heavy fines and possible suspension of operations for non-compliant operators.
The General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, said the agency has ended the grace period earlier granted to allow customers to regularise their activities and obtain the required permits. She noted that the extension was meant to give affected operators enough time to comply with the new rules.
According to Adelabu, the enforcement drive is aimed at ensuring proper management of parking activities, promoting accountability and strengthening compliance across the state’s parking zones. She explained that despite several reminders and the extended grace period, many customers are yet to obtain their 2026 permits.
The authority had earlier issued demand notices to all registered customers, clearly stating the applicable fees and procedures. Adelabu urged those who are yet to comply to take immediate steps to avoid sanctions.
